Steps to Apply for Aadhaar Card at an Enrollment Center

Once you have the required proofs of any of the above documents, you should visit the enrollment center near you.

  1. Find an Aadhaar Enrollment Center near you. Just enter your area’s Pin Code or Location details to find your closest Aadhar registration center – https://appointments.uidai.gov.in/easearch.aspx
  2. Now, download the enrollment form from the website – https://uidai.gov.in/images/aadhaar_enrolment_correction_form_version_2.1.pdf
  3. You can also get it from the center.
  4. Fill the required details and submit the form along with supported documents (ID proof and Address Proof) at the enrollment center.
  5. Once all your documents are accepted, they’ll ask for your biometric data (fingerprints & IRIS scan).
  6. You photograph is also taken using the webcam.
  7. Once all your data is collected, they will give you an acknowledgement slip that contains the 14-digit enrollment number.
  8. You can use the number to check your Aadhaar card status. So, keep it safe for future reference until you get your original Aadhar card.

You can check the status of your Aadhaar card application online by visiting the official website – https://uidai.gov.in/

  1. You can also directly go to the ‘Check Aadhaar Status’ webpage – https://resident.uidai.gov.in/check-aadhaar-status
  2. Just enter the enrollment ID in the described format.
  3. Enter the security code (as seen in the image)
  4. Now, click ‘Check Status’ button.
  5. In case if your Aadhaar is generated, you’ll get a message saying that along with options to download your e-Aadhaar online.

It is very easy to get the e-Aadhar card online and print it whenever or wherever you wanted to.

  1. Visit the official UIDAI website – https://eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/
  2. Select the ‘Aadhaar’ option under ‘Enter your Personal Details’ section
  3. Choose ‘Regular Aadhaar’ and enter your Aadhar number, full name and Pin code.
  4. Click ‘Request OTP’ to get one time password to your registered mobile number (which you’ve given at the time of enrollment)
  5. Click on ‘I Agree’ and then ‘Confirm’.
  6. Enter the OTP received on your mobile on the webpage and click on ‘Download Aadhaar’ link.

Your Aadhar card is now downloaded in PDF format. Simply, print it out and get it laminated for extra safety.

Ans] NRI or Non-resident Indians are not allowed to apply for an Aadhaar card. You’re only eligible to apply if you’re living in India for 182 days in the past 1 year.
